Once you're cleared to go back onto solid foods think about 5 weeks for me

You have two topics so far and you've asked about eating steak, hot dogs, cheeseburgers and BBQ. Have you had at nutrition consult? Perhaps you need to sit down with him/her and with a support group to hear what your diet is going to be like before you go through surgery. The things you are asking about are not in the best interest of your new stomach, new lifestyle or your weight loss. :)

My doc says no steak or roast beef for 16 weeks (4 months), because it is so dense and difficult to digest.

After 4-5 weeks I was able to eat steak. Hot dogs, BBQ, and cheeseburgers were pretty easy after 4 weeks. Like most of us I'm only able to eat a few bites and I can tell you that if a hot dog is what I want, my 3-4 bites for that meal will certainly be the hot dog.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
