Best peanut butter?

Recommended Posts

This week, I just started spreading some Peanut Butter on my banana or apple to get a good ratio of Protein, fats and carbs. Really tasty snack for before working out. My question is which brand or type is best to use? I am currently using jiffy because that is what is in the house. I know it is not the best choice. I also don't want to use a PB2 spread nor do I want to eat a low carb version of peanut butter (nasty!). I am pretty open to suggestions, but do want it to taste good and easy to spread. Also, I am maintaining and am pretty active daily with my workouts. Any suggestions?

I like the Jif natural as it has no trans fats which many Peanut butters have.

Myself, I like Trader Joes. I like my PB extra crunchy too!

I get mine at whole foods or market street and squish it out of the machine. Au natural. :)

Well before surgery I always ate Adams natural Peanut Butter.. No sugar and the have no salt added too. I liked it you have to stir it when you first buy it but after that I kept it in the refrigerator.

Also at whole foods you can grind your own yummy

Oh when you go to whole foods avoid the honey roasted peanuts (my husbands favorite) just grind the regular nuts! :P

Thanks for all the great suggestions. They all look like viable options. I will just have to try one and see how it goes. My fridge is already packed, so I would prefer not to refrigerate if possible.

It's at all the ones I've been too. I don't know if there are other nuts??? I know there are several options.. But I never really noticed all of them.

Oh and fiddle when you grind at whole foods you get a small container and can leave it out for awhile, we do anyway..

I work in Human Resources for Whole Foods Market and I can tell you that many of the stores also have the grinding options for almond butter and cashew butter. All of the fresh ground nut butters are amazing! If you choose the plain ones, the only ingredient is the nut itself (no added sugar/salt/oil) so it's also the healthiest option. Another hint, try drizzling a tiny amount over kale or other leafy greens. It gives it a wonderful nutty flavor and adds a little Protein punch.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
