Click on the purple bar on the arrow right beside your picture. In that menu you will see "My Tickers". There's where you set up your BMI and weight loss tickers.

I am diabetic and dr immediately lowered my insulin 50% and still there 3 months and 40 lbs later. But dr thinks i will be off insulin by January, yeah!

Woo hoo!!! That's wonderful! Just don't immediately assume that you don't need all your medications, as I did. Stopped taking my cholesterol medication and my LDL (the bad kind) doubled very quickly. So had to add that one back. I have to say I wasn't quite prepared for the sheer number of supplement pills I would need to take, but I have become accustomed to taking them. Using a pill box does make me feel old, though.

Miz B I know what you mean there are so many supplements to take but no more blood pressure and hopefully one day soon no more cholesterol tablets either. I did not need insulin but was almost at that stage. That was one of the factors that made me decide to have the sleeve done. The pill box is a great way to make sure you are taking all you need.

I just turned 50 just before my surgery. Since my 7/31 surgery I'm down 9 pounds. I thought it would be more by now. I guess I am destined to be a slow loser. I did have a minor set back with the onset of shingles post surgery. Hopefully it was caught early. However, I am taking prednisone and an anti-viral liquid medication for another week. I know at least the prednisone makes you retain Water so my weight loss might not start again until the medicines is finished. Other than the shingles I have felt really good. I return to work on Monday so we will see how that goes.

So sorry to hear about your shingles. I have heard that they are very painful.

I was sleeved on July 25th- just started soft food and really super counting calories, Proteins and carbs. Calories about 288, Protein about 47 and carbs 20. I exercise daily at the Y- mostly in the Water due to joint issues, they are great workouts, one is in the deep end, several are for arthritis. Love it a lot. I feel better than I have in yeaars- no hunger headaches, no cravings at all.

I am already thinking ahead and saving my money, every dang dime, for Tummy Tuck, breast reductiion and maybe implants.

I'm so happy with my sleeve, down 48 lbs at week 18. I'm finally ok with only losing 1-2 lbs a week. I'm glad the scale is going in right direction! (Sleeved 4/22). post-22621-13813658812702_thumb.jpg day before surgery post-17450-13813658813251_thumb.jpg My son made me buy this red women's large T-shirt while trying to get a mens XXL. Very surprised how I looked. Praise God!!

I had two sets of blood work that were pre-diabetes, that was all it took to convince me to have the surgery. My highest weight in April 2012 was 265 and surgery was 11/20/12 and was an early birthday present for me. I turned 50 in June and currently weigh 170 in a size 10. This has been the best thing I have done for myself other than have my children!

I am 53, I had my surgery 9/24. I am down 30lbs at week 5. It seems things are slowing down as far as weight loss. It makes me nervous to not drop pounds as fast as I did in the beginning. I think my taste buds are waking up!!!.

I feel I have been given a second chance and I don't want to blow it. I have been able to stop my blood sugars meds and BP meds. I have no regrets about this surgery. It has already been a blessing.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
