Have you contacted your doctor? Healthy choices shouldn't be making you sick. Especially at 8 weeks out.

chicken, fish, refried beans...whatever you eat, try to get in the Protein. You may need to check in with your dr/nut. Good luck! I am 8 weeks out, too....I struggle to drink still. Wishing you the best!

you should be able to handle a little more at 8 weeks. At 8 weeks, I survived on Chili( homemade with extra meat and Beans, no oil), Greek Yogurt, Crab salad, Black Bean soup( with spinach and chicken), Quacker Oats high Fiber oatmeal, Spinach, chicken, Isopure Protein Shake and water:)

If you are only drinking 7 oz of Water you are severely dehydrated sweetie. You need to see or at least speak with your doctor. Is food actually making you sick or is it just the thought of it?

Until you can get on track at least try to drink your Protein. Try some Protein spiked sugarfree pudding. Or mix up some fruit Protein Shakes if you can.

I'm sorry you are having a hard time. At 8 weeks you should be feeling better. I'm worried about you.

How is your energy?

I'm 8 wks out also, I can barely eat and I do not meet my Water quota...I have been to the Dr. she says its normal and I am just slower to come around...but I'm very, very weak. I get bad headache's where my brain actually feels like it is disconnected and moves around freely. When I move my eyes to look towards the side it causes me sharp pains...I cant wait until this passes...it really sucks......so I definitely feel ya, girlfriend....I hope it improves for both of us....

I had surgery on 3-18-13. I have eaten baked tilapia, and did fine. Ground turkey, chicken, pork tenderloin. I had bacon the other day. I do numerous types of cheese, Greek yogurt, eggs and egg beaters. I tried beef once, but I think it was too soon. I also use jay Robb egg Protein Powder in chocolate . I take lactaid before dairy products. Hope this helps

Being dehydrated can make you nauseated. Up your Fluid intake pronto. Are you taking an acid reducer? Early post-op I had a very picky tummy. No dairy except Fat Free Greek Yougurt, no acidic foods, and no spice. No bread, Pasta, or grain.

I ate lunch meat, moist chicken, greek yogurt, soy milk, anderson split pea Soup (most other cream Soups bothered me) and GNC Gold Standard whey Protein in vanilla, unjury chicken Soup Protein. I had the occasional saltine cracker. For veggies, I ate a bite of mild veggies, such as zucchini or carrots. Only fruit I could eat was applesauce, bananna, and watermelon.

I recommend calling your doc ASAP if you can't up your Fluid intake.

Are you taking a nausea medicine, like Zofran? Hope you get past this stage quickly!

I'm still on nausea meds 5 weeks out.

I don't think I get my full amount of liquids in... but before surgery I didn't drink very much, so I drink more than I did back then.

I am doing fairly well on the eating. Ground beef is a little tough, but chicken and fish go very well.

Good luck... talk to your doctor for nausea meds so that you can get the Protein in!

I have ZERO energy...after I attempt to eat anything I have to lie down...It's so bad that I wished I could function normal without having to eat or drink anything because if that were the case id be fine.

Don't lay down after eating-my surgeon said that's the worst thing you can do. Let gravity work towards your benefit and remain upright for as long as possible!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
