clothing...this kinda concerns me..even pre-op..lol

So I have a question about clothing.. What do you all do about your rapid clothing size changes? It would be impossible to buy clothes that fit until you have leveled out.. So how do you find fitting clothes?

I shop the SALES... I went to Lane Bryant during one of their clearance sales and bought I think 14 items for $80.00... which is about thrift store price! I got everything in size 14/16 or 18/20 which was a size smaller than what I was at the time. I also frequent the thrift store and if I find something super cute I buy it as long as it's anywhere from a size 14-20.

I'm not purchasing a TON of stuff, I'm just keeping my eyes open.. and the clothes I have I'm definitely wearing out quickly because I'm wearing them so much, but that's OK, hopefully I'll shrink out of them before they become thread bare!

Plus sizes generally have a 30lb or so spread. So you can get away with a not so perfect fit. Also shop sales and buy basics that can be mix and matched. There is a giveaway section here too.

There is a plus size consignment clothing store about 30 minutes from me. I sell my too large items and purchase lower sizes from the same shop. I have to buy a few new items but not many.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
