Low cal salad dressing you might enjoy

Recommended Posts

I can't eat anything else if I'm eating chicken. I eat plenty of grilled chicken but can not get down more than 3oz at a time. Its the hardest food for me to eat a decent quantity of and I consider my sleeve to be pretty large. I was told I have a 32f bougie but I can eat a pretty decent amount of certain foods.

Its crazy how much the quantity of what I can consume changes from food to food. I can barely fit in 4-5 bites of chicken but can eat a huge bowl of salad... or two tacos in one sitting lol.

I'm gonna try get a picture posted of the average size salad I eat... A half cup for me would be like 2 big bites right?

Haha see, I've never tried to eat just a salad because I've only just started eating them! I heard so much about them not sitting well that I put it off for a while (5 months) chicken yeah I can eat a couple of ounces if I make it (moist)

But if someone tries to give me a piece of dried out chicken? One bite. :P

That dressing they are taking about sounds good I might try it :)

I like Walden Farms dressings and BBQ sauces!! Fat free calorie free gluten free carb free!!! The Italian' date=' balsamic vinegarette and raspberry vinegarette are my faves. I didn't care for the creamy ones like ranch and creamy Italian. They also have different flavored BBQ sauces. I like them all. I marinate my chicken in any of the dressings as well as use it on my salads!![/quote']

Hi where do you find Walden Farms? We have a Natural Grocery, Whole Foods, and a local co-op grocery store here in Boise, ID---is that where I'd find those?

Hi Laura-Ven:

Did you say that 5 months post-op you could eat salad again? I miss it, but I'm only 3 weeks post-op so I know I have a long way to go, just looking forward to the future????????

What veggies do you put in your salads?

I make ranch from packet with canola mayo and skim milk...I just can't use bottled dressings unless it is a vinaigrette.I am not a huge dressing user in the first place so when I use it 1 tablespoon is plenty . Instead of dressing I also like to use a fresh lemon with a little salt sprinkled on my salad .I can only do about 2 oz moist chicken if I am having salad but I still have to wait about 10 mins after I eat my Protein to be able to eat salad too:)

The Bolthouse dressings are refrigerated and normally near the salad area

Hi yes at five months I started with salad again but just a little :) as far as veggies...

I am a all but the kitchen sink kinda girl!

I will do a spring mix of lettuces and put tomatoes, mushrooms, avocados, cucumber, carrots, and cabbage! Or whatever else is laying around :P

But when I was cleared for all foods (around 6 weeks or so I think) I ate broccoli and cauliflower steamed for just a little bit, no problems.

I have to try these... I have been using Annie's goddess dressing and well it's not good on the numbers but I always bought it because it had no sugars added oh and it tastes awesome :)

Be sure to cook and chew your veggies enough. I was eating some boiled string Beans last night and chewed them, but not enough, i guess. They all came up along with a little steak 20 minutes later. It is possible that they were not cooked enough either. At least my body gives me about a minute warning ("the feeling") before rejecting something so I have time to shuffle over to the bathroom.

It very well might have been the steak also because it was a dense cut. I only had those two things and the Beans came up so I blame the Beans. :)

Wow. You can eat a big salad but chicken kicks your backside? I'm kinda envious! :P Well, I would be if I could tolerate more than 2oz of chicken. And what's with the tacos?! I'm Latina and I can't even do a taco! :P

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
