AmandaRaeLeo 2,146 Posted May 1, 2013 Other than "you will know". How do you know you're sliming or foaming? Are they the same? 1 Kelsan reacted to this
Kelsan 117 Posted May 1, 2013 I'm curious about this too. What's it from? Does it happen even after six or twelve months?
frumpynomore 204 Posted May 1, 2013 OMG! YES! You will know when it happens! It has happened to me three times since my VSG which was Dec. 2011 and it isn't fun! All three times happened because I over ate. The last time just happened this past Saturday. I made a piece of Cod fish and some brown rice. Well, I love rice and was sitting in front of the T.V. and ate too much! Rice blows up in the stomach and I knew that but I was mindless eating not paying attention and it happened. I got real sick to my stomach and just knew I was going to throw it all up but instead of vomit it's FOAM and lots of clear liquid like saliva. The foam is awful! It lasts for about an hour and then all is fine just like it never happened but when you're going through it, it seems like forever! Hard to explain other than you will know when it happens! 2 Cheer Mama and donewithdieting reacted to this
amytug 996 Posted May 1, 2013 happens to me when i eat too fast, which sadly has happened 3 times. you have a pressure in your chest - feels kinda like you ate a brick, and then you feel like you have to burp or something. you try to pull up a burp but instead, it's mucousy "slime." not pleasant, and the times it's happened to me, I've had to induce vomiting to ease pressure.. I dont have to use my finger (tmi, yall) just keep doing that "burp/suck" thing and it keeps coming out for up to an hour. NOT fun. you'd think I'd learn, but I have 6 kids and dinner time is crazy time around hereand i HATE hate hate hate eating slow. well maybe 3 hates for eating slow, and 4 for overeating. 1 Cheer Mama reacted to this
AmandaRaeLeo 2,146 Posted May 1, 2013 I had the brick. Right below the rib cage. I've had a flood of thick saliva accompanied by huge spit bubbles (tmi?) and then gagging/puking. I figured I was sliming but wanted to confirm that there was not yet another fun sleeve experience out there in addition to aforementioned experience! I too ate too fast. I learned my lesson for sure!
Territravel 217 Posted May 1, 2013 Yes Amanda, you have been introduced to the Slimies! Eat too much, eat too fast and this is the present you receive...Uggh, I'm a pro at it!

bmbrush413 124 Posted May 1, 2013 Happened to me for the first time last night (almost 6 weeks out). Ate too much too fast. Never want to experience that again - especially since I was at a restaurant!!
AmandaRaeLeo 2,146 Posted May 1, 2013 Oops I did it again. :-(
pantala 125 Posted May 2, 2013 I also had this happen when I drank liquids too soon after eating solid food. And popsicles count as liquid (FYI). The most un-fun experience EVER!
MrsG 329 Posted May 2, 2013 Oops I did it again. :-( Slow down girl!! Lol! I haven't done the sliming thing but twice I ate too fast and my mouth watered really bad like I might throw up. I panicked, stood up, tilted my head back and took a few deep breaths and it went down. Not sure which is worse tho, throwing up or getting it down then feeling like crap for an hour after.....oh joy! 1 Satchel reacted to this
JennyBeth 127 Posted May 2, 2013 You can also get the slimes from swallowing too big of a bite. Last night it happened to me from swallowing one of my pills. The worst part was I felt like it was stuck in my throat ALL night and the foamy saliva I was throwing up tasted like dissolved pills! It was awful!
AmandaRaeLeo 2,146 Posted May 2, 2013 I bought rotisserie chicken and took a hefty bite, not thinking. It was too much. Lesson learned.

Fiddleman 4,376 Posted May 2, 2013 I feel like I got robbed! I never got the slimies or threw up! I want the emergency automatic shut off valve! Trust me, you should be glad that you are not sliming as it can be painful if early out (e.g less then 5 months).
