Contact Dermatitis 1 month out of Surgery

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I got contact dermatitis :( Did anyone else have this happen to them? Yes, been to 3 different doctors - all concur contact dermatitis. Been on steroids 4 days now and it's slowly going away...

If you have had this happen how long before gone?

No, but how did you get it? What irritates your skin?

I was diagnosed with atopic dermatitis about a year ago. I take Zyrtec every night which helps a lot vs. daytime meds that just make me sleepy. Sorry you have to go through this, definitely not fun.

0007Sleever,

I had surgery in Jan. 2013 so I had the Dermatitis & allergies before surgery. However, I did not always have them so I totally understand how they can pop-up out of the blue. My Dermatitis did seem to get worse for the month or so after surgery. I think my system was so thrown-off by all the things surgery, that the Dermatitis was affected too. Happily, it has gotten better. But, I do try to prevent breakouts & allergy agitation by taking the Zrytec every night.

So I'm so excited! Went to Dermatologist no infection :) She says no worries it's contact dermatitis for sure will prescribe appropriate medications. Very happy not anything bad ;) Going back next week for a check up....

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
