Eating Frosty's Standing Up!

Recommended Posts

Oh - words of wisdom - you already know what they are at this point in the thread. :)

I can eat when I sit normal. I find then if I get stuck, leaning over on the kitchen island does wonders. Seems to be something about the position, though I'm not sure how that impacts the band or food.

I definitely have to sit up straight to eat. My DH is always after me when he sees me trying to eat in my recliner. I know he's right, but I don't always want to sit up straight.

Try having some warm Soup when the frosty urge hits you. You can break that cycle. It is too easy to stay on liquids and not move to solid foods. The band is meant to work with solid foods. You could still be too tight, even with the unfill. You might also have irritated the stoma and need to relax a little.

Hang in there. This too shall pass.

It was the only way I could eat while I was too tight for a solid month. I had a slight unfill and yipee, now I can eat meats again and can eat sitting down.

Terri,

Do you get fills under fluoro? If that's an option for you, you might want ask for it. Under fluoro, my doctor does a barium swallow to see if the fill amount is causing reflux. If it does, he adjusts the fill amount downward.
