I just got off full liquid and embarking on the purees. Wounds are healing fine and no soreness there. I do feel a mild gut pain and really a constant fullness throughout the day. Im not sure if this is the norm and that Im still making my way through the healing process. I walk about 30 min a day and am looking foward to weight training in about a month. On the whole no real setbacks from the sleeve surgery but this constant feeling in my abdomen. I see my nurse in a couple weeks and ill wait till then to address this if still there. Anyone have this experience?

I have a 5/8 surgery date. How long did you take off from work before you felt confident to return?

I took two weeks off, glad i did. The first few days after surgery you can expect to feel bad i.e. Shoulder pain from the gas they put in you, abd. pain from surg sie and stomach pain with everything you swallow. Like they say...it get better after that. Try to walk at least 4-5 times a day for about 5-10min this will help. Always have your Water with. I could have gone back to work after a week but that would have been pushing it. Even the first week back after 2 weeks off i was whipped when i got home and my job is not that strenuous.

Good luck with the life change!

Thanks I appreciate it. I'm taking two weeks off and been doing well with exercise and preop diet so I'm going for no complications.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
