MaddieJ 82 Posted May 1, 2013 I have blue cross blue shield of Texas. I have a lap band and am wanting a revision. I called the insurance company to see how long it would take to process my approval and they told me that they had already reviewed my case and they needed more information about my band from the doctors office. My band has not slipped and is working- just not effective. I'm really worried they are going to deny me. Has anyone had a similar experience? Or anyone just wanna guess if asking for for info is good or bad?
SqueakyWheel&Ethyl 160 Posted May 1, 2013 I'd take it as good. If they are seeking more info, they are not just rubber-stamping "NO" on your case. I bet you get approval. I'd call the ins co pre certification office and ask them specifically what they still need and offer to run interference to get them the data ASAP.
MaddieJ 82 Posted May 1, 2013 Thanks! I think I will do that. I think it's better that I call the insurance office back tomorrow because when I called them yesterday I had just come back from the dentist office and was HIGHLY medicated! I barely remember the conversation. I would not have normally called them but the meds the dentist gave me made me high as a kite. I also called the surgeons office too. Apparently drugs make me more impatient!
