surgery was 4/25. It hurts me terribly bad when I sneeze or cough and sometimes laugh especially from the incision where they took the stomach out. Anyone else have this issue?

Great job losing 18 lbs. I was sleeved 2/18 and down 42 lbs. My biggest complaint the first 5 weeks was how tired I was. I wanted to take a nap every day. But feeling great now!

I had bad incision pain for about three weeks, after that I was fine. No complications or any issues at all. What you are feeling is normal, esp from the incision they pulled the stomach out of. That was def the most painful.

When i was in the hospital they gave me a bariatric bear i could hold against my stomach when i needed to sneeze, cough, or even get up off the couch...it really helped alot...even a firm pillow would do.

I totally agree! When I would sit I had a heating pad on my tummy and underneath a pillow that I used for coughing, sneezing and getting up. Every day gets better! :)

Even when I splint my belly with the cute tropical mini pillow they gave me it still stings and throbs like crazy at two of my incision sites. Today is my one week surgiversary. I do feel better and am bored out of my skull. But coughing, sneezing, bending the wrong way still burns really bad at my incisions.

I had incision pain for about 4 weeks then it just disappeared one day. Good luck! It will be a distant memory soon.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
