I wanna give thanks to everyone. im trying my best to be strong but is very very hard i wish could go back and be normal like before

I soooo agree with you!!! The mental part of this is so much harder than I ever could have imagined!!! I'm 2 weeks out of surgery. It's getting a little easier each day, as long as I keep myself busy!!! Keep my mind occupied! I'm so thankful that this app was recommended to me! I now know that I'm not the only one that regretted doing this! But watching the numbers on the scale go down reminds me why I did it!!!

Mashed potatoes are empty calories. Go for something Protein packed like cottage cheese or Greek yogurt. Warm low fat or non fat ricotta cheese seasoned with a butter substitute like mash potatoes is a nice alternative.

Thanks

Instead of saying "what did I do to myself" start saying " look what I've done for myself." You have saved your life. It takes a lot of courage to take this step, and you really have come too far to turn around.

I don't mean to be crass, but what is done is done and we have to now make the most of it. Do what we need to do to get the healthy us we seek!

I got my sleeve a week ago, im still in pain, and i have dreams about food---but i dont regret this decision; I hope I never do. Good luck, lady!

My surgery was April 15th. The Dr. gave me the ok for 'soft foods' this past Monday. When you are up for it and the Dr. give you an okay, try a little spicy Tomato juice or Tomato Soup with a dollop of Fat Free sour cream. Even a baby teaspoon of hummus. for me this helped the first week to give my palate a break from the Protein Drinks. The 2nd week is much better ☺. This is our new life. Like everyone says this is our new 'journey'. we have to look at the long term.

Try to stay strong. It's not the end of the world. I am on the 8th day it's been hard but I have to check myself when I see others eating good food or all these commercials on TV. I tell myself I've had 33 years of eating all that stuff and enjoyed every bite. You are going to be able to eat again right now give your body a break to get healthy and when you are able to eat you will truly appreciate the taste and not over eat because you'll look in the mirror and see how good you luck and be thankful for your new body. Foods not going anywhere so take it one day at a time

Wow!!! Why are you on liquids for so long?? Curious as to why your doctor said no broth.. I really like the wylers sugar free lemonade and sugar free raspberry ice pops!!! I also make my own with the Protein shakes I buy!! Best of luck on your journey!!! :-)

It's what my dr says. 3 Protein Shakes and lots of fluids. I asked about broths and they said absolutely not. I see from this forum that each dr has different rules. I'm really doing ok for the most part. I have my struggles. It's not easy at all as you all know but the end result will be so worth it. My hardest part is since I have been sleeved I have had parties every weekend. Sitting at a table while everyone else eats is very difficult. And this weekend is Greek Easter the biggest holiday and feast for us Greeks and I can't eat nothing. But I will think positive and push through (I hope). Thanks for the ice pop recommendation will go out and buy them.

I was staying at my moms for a few days after surgery so she can help me with my son. Sitting there watching everyone eat some of my favorite foods was the worst!!!! Even though I'm not physically hungry I feel mentally deprived and unsatisfied.. That's the hardest part!!! I keep myself as busy as I can. I go out for long walks or go shopping (I'm going on a cruise in a couple weeks) so I'm preparing for that as well...

I wish you the best of luck on your journey!!

I was sleeved on 3/26 and am feeling the same way everyone else is. I did this surgery because a friend had lost 140lbs with bypass. She raved about it, never telling the tough beginning. My problem is not about the food because I don't really feel like eating anything. I still don't feel well. I am constantly nauseous and sometimes vomit. Some of my problem could be depression as I lost my job the day before surgery. I thank God because I don't feel I could have made it back to work at three weeks. Also during recovery I have torn something in my knee and am on crutches.

I want to thank everyone for telling us newbies that life goes on and it will get better. Please tell me that the bad taste will go away, along with my weakness and nauseous.

Go March and April sleevers.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
