Yes, I am getting excited...I do feel the excitement then honestly I get apprehensive and scared!! Back and forth! I would be feeling the same way if I were having the VSG in the States!! My daughter I will both be there at the same time. We fly in on the 16th. I will pray for your success and health outcome!

That is so sweet of you. I will do the same. I will probably be bored to tears after day one of being in florence, so will fire up the iPad and put the free WiFi to work.

I had one of the board friends say to me "you shouldn't be excited"...however, I am.

This is a new phase and a new journey. As with starting out any new challenge, difficulties will happen (sip, sip, sip) along with the wonderful opportunities that go along with it.

I look forward to slowly eliminating the 4 different sizes in my closet

What are you looking forward to?

I am with you on the clothes sizes....I am so looking forward to just getting dressed with out thinking about how uncomfortable I will be in my too small outfits! I think that some people are just more trusting and generally happier than some, like you are, so they can get excited easier and stay that way!! What a gift to have!! Then you have those that are more pragmatic, analytical and with some age under their belts, we become more cautious and analyzing everything to the point of becoming overly concerned sometimes.

Watching YouTube you can sense the ones that are positive and throw a little caution to the wind no matter what might happen to them...it shows in their countenance and they seem the happiest of all the WLS folks...I am trying to be a little more that way (now that I have analyzed everything :)!)Just my thought...

I'm on the 22nd now and I can't wait! I have many different size clothes that I bought for the future with the band and I'm excited to put them on without spilling out of them! Lol thinking about getting my teeth whitened while I'm there.......

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
