johnlatte 1,232 Posted April 30, 2013 Saw this today while at the gym. TV was set on the local AM news show. Basically a neat way to exercise, when you are traveling or can't get to the gym or just want to mix up your routine. Get a deck of cards.... Assign an exercise to each suit For example: Hearts = burpees Clubs = v ups Diamonds = squat jumps Spades = push ups (or what ever exercise you want to do) Flip over a card and do the exercise 9 of hearts = 9 burpees 3 of clubs = 3 v ups and so on keep turning over the cards as soon as you finish one exercise. Try and do as many cards as you can. 4 Kalimomof3, rdoactv, sastexan4u@yahoo.com and 1 other reacted to this

Fiddleman 4,376 Posted May 1, 2013 Out of coincidence my PT had me do the deck of cards WOD today. She assigned the following exercises to each card type : burpee, situp, squat and kettle swing. It took 23 minutes to get through the deck, but man, a good workout on the upper body. I found it amusing that we did this today, for the first time, only 1 day after your post. Something must be aligned in the stars. It is really kind of random fun, like a card game, to think you are doing just fine and then get slammed with a face or ace on the burpees. There is a little excitement that builds wondering what card is going to be dealt next. I am sure the really good card players out there who do this WOD can card count and beat the house, whatever that means. Lol! 1 johnlatte reacted to this

johnlatte 1,232 Posted May 1, 2013 I think it is in the crossfit/bootcamp playbook.
Fiddleman 4,376 Posted May 1, 2013 I think it is in the crossfit/bootcamp playbook. Regardless, it is a lot of fun and leaves you pretty fatigued after playing all 52 cards in a row ( shuffle it good, might be easier that way. Lol). Give it a try! Post your times.
