kmed21 41 Posted April 29, 2013 Had my psych eval today.. OMG, some of the questions asked on the 536 questions sound like they were dated for the 50's.. Sheesh.. And the questions she asked me to see if I can make choices on my own were waay out there, and off the wall. "Why do we have money?" "Why is history important?" "Why should we protect our endagered species?" I'm just like, whaaa?!?! I asked her if I passed that part and she laughed and said "Yeah". Anyone else with a weird Psych eval thing? Kim. thinathart 197 Posted April 29, 2013 I remember answering if I saw ghosts or had imaginary friends...it made me wonder if anyone ever checked "yes", just to see if they actually read the answers.
Takingcontrol 467 Posted April 29, 2013 I didn't even have a questionnaire?? Just talked to him a few minutes & he said O.K.!
Kailisa 28 Posted April 29, 2013 I had my psyc eval last week, It went well. No weird questions or questionnaires She did however dig into my past a lot. I guess she needed to make sure I was ready for what I getting ready to embark on.
makemyownluck 785 Posted April 29, 2013 I didn't have to do the questionnaire, just talk to a shrink for about 10-15 minutes. And she asked mostly about my family and work life, barely anything about my weight. The only time we even discussed surgery is when she asked me to explain what I knew about the surgery and my post-op diet... kind of like a quiz to see if I really knew what I was getting into. But hey, as long as she wrote a letter at the end saying I was NOT CRAZY, I was fine with all of it. I asked for a 2nd copy, in case my sanity is called into question by friends and family at any point in the future. HAHA
Rena's got this 274 Posted April 29, 2013 Mine was a one hour talk with the psychologist, and a one hour questionnaire. Yes, some of those questions on the questionnaire were a bit flaky, like would you ever bend the law? Hello....yes, most everyone has run a red light when the yellow cut off a bit too quickly. There are also other special circumstances where the law might not be the best thing for the time. There was no explanation on whether the law broken was a felony or not. I had trouble with these types of questions, because I take them so literally. I said that yes, I would bend the law. Anyway, I passed the eval.
NewAshes 232 Posted April 29, 2013 I hate trick questions....they have a test to apply for Walmart and I took it just to see if I could pass and I failed..twice...I'm not a people person but I did one with my own answers then one with what I thought was right...so the eval worries me because I'm actually on ssi for mental disorders...nothing psychotic but it still worries me lol
Rena's got this 274 Posted April 29, 2013 Somehow I think that you need to be consistent. They usually ask the same question multiple times in a different way. If you answer them the same I think you are safe, unless your answers are really out there!
karpouzian 94 Posted April 30, 2013 Ashlie, don't feel bad... I'm on meds for anxiety and depression, and I don't think that will rule me out. They just want to make sure you are ready for life changes, ya know?
NewAshes 232 Posted April 30, 2013 Yeah....I always over worry myself and am pessimistic, that way if things don't go right I don't feel as bad lol
