LillianneMcBeth 1 Posted April 29, 2013 Hi, I am a stay at home mom to 3 y.o. twin boys (Very active). Are there any moms of young children out there who have had the sleeve & are stay at home moms who could advise me as to when I will be "ready to go" post surgery in terms of taking care of the twins, the house, etc. Thanks in advance for any advice ! mobrien1103 3 Posted April 29, 2013 Hey! I am not a stay at home mom, but have a very active 4 year old. I had a few rough days in the hospital after the surgery and I didn't let my daughter come to the hospital. I had my surgery on Monday 4/15 and went home Thursday the same week. I can't pick her up and carry her, but by 1 week out I could get up and do the dishes and do the laundry. My daughter LOVES to help with laundry so I had her push the basket full of clothes back and forth so I didn't have to carry it. It was only really hard for the 1st week. I stopped taking the pain meds pretty much byt Saturday after the surgery and only used them at bedtime if I was sore. I am completely off the pain meds now. The hardest part was not seeing her for 3 days while I was in the hospital. Don't over do it...if I bend over a lot now to "pick up" I get sore...everyone's different so just go back into it slow and take breaks. I am sure you kids will love sitting and watching tv with you or reading a book with you. =) Good Luck!
