Has anyone tried this brand of Pasta? It is supposedly 'lower carb' with only 13g digestible carbs and has a low glycemic index. I just want to know about the taste. Does it taste regular???

If is delicious. I ate it for years prior to surgery. Now, I do not eat Pasta, but really enjoyed it in my pre-sleeve life.

we love it!

My husband is diabetic so we've used it for years.

I love Pasta and allow myself some occasionally. I am 2 months out and always make sure I eat my Protein first! My nut said it's fine! :)

I've never heard of it. Berilla makes a Pasta with Protein in it but I'm not sure the carb content. Another option is black bean pasta. FULL of protein, and lower carb. If you can get past the weird look. They kinda look like worms...but taste wonderful!

Lol! I'm sorry, I saw your title and laughed because I thought you were having dreams of eating in a field of pasta! I have to wait a few more months before I can have Pasta so I was relating!

Anyhow, is this Pasta supposed to be better for you somehow? Just curious.

yes, it has what they call protected carbs. It only has 5g of digestible carbs per serving.

It says it has 41g total carbs

-5g Fiber

-31g protected carbs

=5g digestible carbs

Looks like we can get the black bean Pasta at whole foods. I don't do much at whole foods but will go for specific things.

I love the black bean Pasta. The Protein content is great. They're black noddles, a dark grey when cooked, but as a pasta lover, I almost danced in the store when I saw them :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
