wynk11 120 Posted April 29, 2013 I have surgery in the morning and my mom is a nervous wreck!! I started not to tell her at all because my niece is very bad off from a gastric bypass and in her head they are one in the same. I know what I'm doing is best for me but I feel so bad putting her thru this. She has had everyone in our family calling me trying to talk me out of it. I know she just wants me to be ok but this is stressing me OUT!! I can't wait til morning! 1 Vermillymomma82 reacted to this
Eressa76 19 Posted April 29, 2013 My mom is the same way but I had to educate her and let her know my decision was for me and my health and I loved her but she had to respect my decisions.
Ms skinniness 3,003 Posted April 29, 2013 It is really hard being a mom and seeing our beautiful daughter go through this process especially when another member in the family is struggling with the gastric bypass......You will do fine and she will recover quickly.....Hugs to you and can't wait for you to join me on the big losers bench........... 1 wynk11 reacted to this
wynk11 120 Posted April 29, 2013 My mom is the same way but I had to educate her and let her know my decision was for me and my health and I loved her but she had to respect my decisions. Yes I did too. Printed out articles explaining the difference and so on. And shes a nurse so she fully comprehends it. But she's just not with it! I know she'll be ok but to see her cry tonite truly broke my heart.
Vermillymomma82 39 Posted April 29, 2013 I'm having somewhat of the same issue. I'm sorry you are going through this. The only advice I can give that has seemed to be working for me is to tell the people in your life (mom included) that you love them and welcome their support however if they have nothing positive or helpful to say to please support you with presence and not words. Negativity breeds stress and stress is unhealthy before and after any surgery. Best of luck to you! 2 Kelsan and wynk11 reacted to this
Kelsan 117 Posted April 29, 2013 I feel bad for both of you. It has to be hard for her to see her baby doing something she believes is dangerous, yet you know the statics. You'll just have to push through and let her know after surgery that your doing great and she worried for nothing. Good luck on your surgery and I hope you have a speedy recovery. 1 wynk11 reacted to this
LiveWire 5 Posted April 29, 2013 You have come too far to give up. Dont let others talk you out of it..Be strong. Say a prayer for peace, and Put God in Control..then relax and let the best thing happen for the rest of your life!! 1 wynk11 reacted to this
sharonintx 1,275 Posted April 29, 2013 Awwwww... I'm so sorry. Your poor mom! My mom didn't care for it either. That's why I didn't tell her until it was done. She would have been worried too. Just hang in there and have faith. Your mom will be 100% better once you wake up from surgery and give her a pretty smile:) That's just what moms do. But my heart goes out to both of you and good luck tomorrow! 1 Kelsan reacted to this
