What is appropriate, and when??

Recommended Posts

My surgery is going to be January 30. My Doctor's office staff is THE BEST. I mean, every question answered, all concerns calmed; I wouldn't trade them for the world. Is it in appropriate to send them a little 'gift' for the holidays? Or should I wait to send something after surgery as a 'thank you'? I can't afford to do both. Also, I wanted to send a 'basket' of treats…but considering that it's a 'weight loss surgerical suite' - that might not be the gift in 'the best taste'. I was actually thinking of a vendor I found that sends 'Old English Muffin' Breakfast baskets, with jams, syrups, etc. Definitely won't send candy or Cookies - I'll send flowers before I do that.

Your views/opinions are appreciated!! :)

Sherrilyn,

Follow your heart on when you want to send them something as a thank you. There aren't any rules (or am I the only one who didn't get them?? :o )

You know, one of the things that the band is good for is to reevaluating ALL the ties we have to food. For me, I wouldn't feel comfortable giving food to people who are going to help me manage my issues with food. And if your office is anything like my doctor's office, the staff have all been through the surgery.

I'll bet if you think a little bit, you might come up with something else non-food to say thank you. Here's a site that has some different kinds of ideas. Maybe something will appeal to you.

Good lucK,

Jo Ann
