How come no one mentions muscle milk as a Protein Drink? It's low carb, low fat, low sugar, and taste is good. Just making sure I'm not missing something. O and it has 20 Proteins in it.

I can tell you that for me, I considered the carb content high. It has 12 carbs in it. Comparing this to what I settled on as best tasting, and best for my body, Premier Protein drinks have only 5 carbs in them. The Muscle Milk light only has 5 carbs, but it also only has 15 Protein, as compared to the 30 in Premier, which tops both of them. There is more sugar in Muscle Milk as well. No matter how miniscule, and I like to avoid sugar as much as possible. Also, Muscle Milk has 230 calories, and Premier only has 160. The calorie content alone may not be a concern as many of us have to fight to get our calories up to goal, but I would rather get my calories from protein that carbs.

Yep, what the person above stated is probably what's up.. I think we all go through the initial discovery phase, there are so many yucky Protein Shakes out there, then we find MM when we are still new and it's like, holy cow it doesn't taste horrible, hooray! But then you do your homework and discover the sugar/carbs/cals ratio, and also discover that there ARE awesomely yummy powders out there that are way lower in sugar/carbs/cals and that's that. I believe there is a permanent thread in food & nutrition that lists the good the bad and the ugly of Protein powders and rtd's, good luck.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
