Newgirl54 19 Posted May 2, 2013 I had my sleeve on the 22nd, I also have MS, so I stay away from artificial sweeteners of any kind because of the correlation between artificial sweeteners and MS. I use the regular frozen Popsicles.i feel my calorie intake is so low, the amount of carbs are negligible.
confidence 46 Posted May 2, 2013 I never thought of that. Are you loosing the weight even though you not paying much attention to the carbs?
Newgirl54 19 Posted May 2, 2013 I have lost 15 lbs so far. I did talk to my surgeon about it and he was okay with it. Of course I am not using sugar willy nilly, but staying away from the artificial sweetners, while still wanting to get my Water in somehow.
playlikeworldchamps 595 Posted May 2, 2013 I had really hard time with Water too. I drank a lot of water pre surgery but one sip would be very painful right after surgery. I was starting to get a little dehydrated when I found I could drink diet snapple tea. I dilute it with water and ice. it's my new favorite drink and approved by my doctor. I am 7 weeks out and can drink water now but still not easy.

patiscuba 28 Posted May 10, 2013 this is good to hear, as I also am not getting near enough Water. I feel for the gal who does not do the artificial sweetners. Same here. I just hate them, and hate the chemicals and what they do to my body. Desperately looking for something that tastes good, to get in fluids without the chemicals and chem taste
Ruthie1974 34 Posted May 10, 2013 I has the same problem getting fluids in right after surgery. I felt completely drained and had a horrible headache. I went into the ER and had a couple of liters of IV Fluid and was sent home. The next day it was like a switch had been thrown. I could drink enough to stay ahead. What worked for me was making sure I had the bottles of liquid in the fridge that I knew I had to get through that day, and the Lipton instant Decaf tea with lemon helped. The other thing I noticed was that everything tasted way too sweet. Half a package of crystal light was enough. Know that his does get better when the swelling goes down. Good luck!
