You didn't gain it overnight either. I have 115lbs to lose from the beginning. I'm 8 months out and I have lost 80. Only 10-15 pounds a month the first 4 and the last 4 has been 5-10 pounds a month. I've never pulled the big numbers, but from highest weight of 268, surgery day weight 250 and current weight of 185, 35 left to go...I'm pretty happy with the slow and steady. I think I'm losing it at a healthy pace. Just be patient and remember you didn't gain 25 lbs a month, you may not lose 25 lbs a month. Any loss is a loss.

Start taking your measurements. I usually do my measurements once a month and when I hit a stall. You will be amazed at the inches lost even though the scale isnt moving!! It's always a great way to stay motivated while in a stall. There is a huge difference in your pictures and i bet that will be reflected in your measurements. Form someone who lost really really quickly in the beginning I can assure you that everyone hits these moments. I slowed right down and am loosing at a snails pace. After losing a lot quickly it was hard for me to wrap my head around. That's why I have found other methods such as the measurements and side by side pics to keep me motivated.

yes you can deff tell the diff, slow and steady wins the race, I understand I havent lost anything in 2 weeks and its hard but I know it will start kicking back soon, just keep on track and you will get there, cant compare your self to others everyone is diff and everyone loses at a diff rate, congrats on your lose so far your doing great

It's crystal clear that your body is changing, even if the scale isn't. Stop worrying about the scale for the moment. It will just frustrate you unnecessarily. You're probably in one of the infamous stalls, where your body is adjusting. Stick with the plan, and it will start coming off again.Did you do measurements before your surgery? I think it's obvious that you would see a difference in inches if you had. And if you didn't, I highly recommend taking measurements now, and if the scale's not moving, compare measurements. Also, do your clothes seem like they're fitting a bit more loosely? I'll bet if you think about it, they are.

Hang in there!

I'm losing slowly too. At 7 weeks out I figured I would have lost about 40 pounds but I've lost 23 instead. Had a major stall that lasted 3 weeks. It was very discouraging! Giggles said it right - slow and steady wins the race. Its so hard to not sit around and watch the scale move or not move. It feels like you have this

surgery and then all your day consists of is waiting for pounds to drop off! I've decided to just try to live my life again and have faith that the weight will come off when it gets good and ready. How can it not come

off being as one can only eat a small amount of food in one day - well - except for those chocolate peanuts I

bought yesterday. They went down real easy. I'll have to stop with the candy.

Hang in there - you will lose at your own pace and you have already done a great job!

Thank you everyone for all the positive feedback I will try to work on my patience although its super hard to be patient lol. But it's true I didn't gain all this weight in a month so I shouldn't expect to lose so much in a month. I did forget to take measurements the day before surgery

I love the slow n steady wins the race I will definitely keep that in mind

Thank you all for ur support

I'll have measurements without having to remember to do it, at least reasonably current ones - I get measured once a month at my new gym. Granted that it's over my workout clothes, but as long as I take that into account, it's all relative. But I'm really glad I'll have that - it will help me stay mentally in the game if I can see the progress even when the scale doesn't move!

If you compare yourself to ANYONE it's going to drive you INSANE, so it's really better to get a grip on it now. Yes, it's easier said than done but you'll be happier for breaking that habit in the long run.

The advice about your measurements is spot on, especially in the early days. Those dreaded stalls can really play games with your self-perception so having some concrete numbers will help keep your morale high.

Be sure to drink your Water and get your Protein in and you'll be just fine! :)

YES....you can tell a difference..I totally agree with what everyone is saying. Slow will definately win the race, I hit my stall a week or two ago, then I went back & changed a few things like my workout, my eating habits, I absolutely LOVE ORANGE JUICE...I had to push away from that sugar & it worked. You are going to have many of stall weeks, stay focus & do your thang...You look great, the faster it falls the chances are the skin will hang so you don't want it to fall fast at all. I am now losing 2 pounds a week & I love it. Keep your head up...

I did my sleeve 30/3 so only two days differ between you n me

And till yesterday i was in the weight stall,,and if when i read all the other stories till i convinced that every one pass by the stall.

.weight loss differ between cases n depend on starting weight and your body metabolism and if you have any hormonal problem thats all affect...

My stall last till yesterday (didnt move since 3weeks) today i discovered am one kilo down...so i think you are also so near to break the stall. Just ignore the scale n continue your dieting plans..

Good luck

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
