I'm 4 months post op and started losing hair 2 weeks ago. I always get all my Protein in and take 5,000mg Biotin daily and it didn't help!! :(

Yes, I started losing it at about 2.5 months out. Sucks. It's always all over my shirt, in food I cook, on the couch, pillow in my bed...uhhh!! And I've gotten in all my Protein since week 2. I think it's just something that happens and there are a few lucky ones it doesn't happen to and nobody knows why. The only one who's noticed so far tho is me, no one else.

I will be 7 months post op in 2 days and I haven't lost any hair yet. Maybe it's falling out so gradually that I haven't noticed it but I haven't noticed a difference in thickness or anything.

I am 7 months out and haven't lost any hair. I often forget to take my vitamins...but I do eat a lot of Atkins bars and use Keranique products on my hair. I have no idea if that helped or not but thought I would mention it.

-75 lbs in 7 months. I started shedding at around 4 months...heavily. Luckily I had extremely thick hair. Or not luckily because my hair is everywhere all of the time. It has finally slowed and I have some new growth starting in that is wispy. It is just part of the process for many of us and fortunately, only temporary.

I haven't lost any and I'm 6 months out. Hair loss has everything to do with the spike in estrogen in your system. If you're on a birth control, switch to a no/low estrogen option. It should help.

Sincerely,

Your Paul Mitchell grad :)

A wig might be fun!

Heck yeah! I would do fun colors like pink or lavender! I wouldn't try to play it off like real hair, I'd go color crazy! ;)

Well I'm a little over 6 months and I haven't lost any hair...thank goodness, I went natural right before surgery so it's really thick... I must admit I don't take my Vitamins everyday, and I try to meat my Protein goals, maybe I was just lucky on the Hair loss part I don't know.....

My hair is pretty thick. I'm about 4.5 months post op. when I started seeing more in my hands and bathroom sink, I cut my hair short. To me it was a lot. But, we had a patient that had surgery the same time that I did ( she had a partial colectomy). The day I noticed more hair in my hands, she came in with a complaint of Hair loss. She pulled out a gallon size ziplock full of hair that she brushed out that morning. She had large bald spots. The doc told her and me, it's the stress of major surgery. Nothing will slow it or prevent it. I'm thankful that I'm not shedding like that.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
