How far out are you? Do you work out? Is your weight loss ok?

I want to be strong right now but there's hot fudge cake in the other room. It smells divine. I used to eat this when I was little and haven't had it in years.

I think of I do it ill exercise tomorrow even tho its supposed to be my day off. Maybe. But is it worth it? I like my day off. Man. Delimma.

Ok. I had a piece. A small one and it was delicious and now I'm over it. :)

I eat dessert a very small one, once or twice a week. It makes it so I'm not craving it, I also like trying some healthier dessert options. Yesterday I had banana with cinnamon and a bit of honey on it. It was so yummy

having a little dessert every so often isn't going to hurt you. It can help in a way, by keeping the cravings for it at bay. i do'nt worry about little splurges every no and then, i'm human, sometimes i really really really want pizza. So i have 1 small slice, and i'm satisfied, don't need anymore, want it, sure, but i can push that aside easy.

I am not quite 6 months, I have lost 78 pounds so far, I do not exercise (I know I should...), and I do indulge in a treat or two every now and again. I don't make it a habit, but I don't deny myself if I have a craving. I figure that this change has to be forever, and I'm not going to deny myself treats forever, so I need to learn to eat sensibly so I can maintain a healthy life style. For me, that includes the occasional treat.

I agree. I felt happy after eating the chocolate cake. Not because I had a sugar high (I didn't) but because you know what? I had A PIECE. not 6 pieces over the course of the day. One. That's it. I can now eat a small piece if dessert like a normal person ven though my head wanted more. That feels amazing!

I also worked out an hour afterwards.

Cake=168 calories

Exercise burned 218.

Boom!

Now, I don't plan on doing this daily. But I felt in control. And coming from a sugar addict about cake, that's something!

      Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
      What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

      I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
