3 days out and today is a good day. I am able to consume fluids easily and most all pain has subsided. Only a little sore on left lower incision.

welcome to your new journey.. a lot of the times the one incision that hurts the most is the one they pulled the stomach out of.. they have a tendency to stretch that one.. mine was sore too..but on the right side... plus I had a hiatal hernia repair too.. but all is well.. I was sleeved dec 20th and Im down 85lbs..and boy am I happy I did this... and the clothes I can fit into and can buy.. OMG I cant believe it.. I still cant.. buying clothes is a trip for me.. I still have some to go..but hey.. im getting close to onederland... so best of luck to you on your journey.. anything is possible. :))))

Thanks so much! I had the Hiatal hernia repair as well. I'm excited to see how much weight will be lost and to shop as well. I'm just a little nervous still because this is all so new. Just learning how to drink fluids is a challenge! :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
