I'm freaking out a lil bit. I've been stalled for two weeks now. I've only lost 1 pound in that time. I've been walking daily and diligently taking in my Protein. I'm hoping this isn't foreshadowing what the rest of my journey will be like. I've been working so hard. I can't handle this disappointment well. Please someone anyone tell me this will end soon.

Hey there, did you get to speak with the NUT or Dietitian? Maybe you need to keep track of the calorie intake making sure your putting in enough or vice averse. Find out how many calories you should be on. Sometimes its just your body holding on to the weight, it will start to come off when it realizes this is life now and let go, LOL be patient.

Be sure to follow up with the NUT, also maybe your losing inches now that too sometimes comes off first.

My sweet Ernestine. I have been losing inches. I had my appt with Nurse yesterday and she told me to bump up calories. I'm going to fight my hardest to do so. Never in a million years did I ever think I would struggle in getting my calories in. Lmbo.

I was 3 weeks post op on Monday. I've also stalled, but I've heard that it is very common to stall at 3 weeks, so don't get too freaked out over it. It will come off :)

How many calories are you getting in daily? I'm getting approx 600, which I think is too low, but what can you do....other than add a milkshake....just kidding!!

I'm getting about 600 calories too. Nurse said to get it closer to 800-900.

I stalled at about week 3. It's frustrating. I only weigh my self once a week now. Weigh yourself in the morning after you wake up.

I always weigh myself in the morning. I'm just trying so hard to up my calorie intake. I just moved to soft solids. It's taken me over an hour to finish 1 soft scrambled egg. Ugh.

The 3 week stall is so common there should be a sub forum just for it. Really, almost everyone does it....then goes on to lose their weight and get to goal, so don't worry too much about it. There is a link in my sig to a good article explaining the whole situation.

Nothing you're saying is out of the ordinary. It gets better each day and each week. Don't force your self to eat more calories if you can't.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
