Hey, congrats! Who knows what normal is. Doctors differ. Spivak moves you back to normal food within a few days anmd does a fill after 3 weeks. Most other doctors have a longer process for getting back to solids.

Well, I think I'm heading into a new phase with my band. I had a plateau for so long, and now I'm losing slowly, and I had to decide if I want to stay basically where I am, which is fine!...or if I wanted to get aggressive about losing more. I think I do. I'm not calling it a diet, but I am going to be very conscious of fat/carbs, etc. Egg white omlettes without cheese....more fish more tofu for protein....raw foods instead of processed, etc. I'm going to do it for a month and see how I do and what I think. I'm still going to allow myself to just do Portion Control and enjoy if I'm in a good restaurant. I think it's time. food doesn't have as great a control on me as it used to, and if I keep my sugar/sweetener addition under wraps, I should be OK. I'm sick of shakes...actually I'm sick of sweeteners.... so I'm going off them for the month and will supplement regular food with Any whey to get extra Protein. Should be an interesting month.

The other weird thing is that sometimes I can look in the mirror and not see the weight loss.

I'm game for anytime. Monday 5:30PM?

WOW Betsy I'm shocked. You have done great!!! I'm game for dinner, but I might be late. It seems I'm working lots now. I can make 6:00 better than 5:30. I have a friend moving down the street from me. She is in my June group, PinkyLee, and I'm so excited. She will be joining our group in a few weeks!!

Where are we going? My pics are the same ones I posted before.

The side shot is a great idea. It really shows your success. But.....is that a before or after shot of your toenail polish?

6PM is fine with me. I don't care where. I'm uninspired......

Umm I didn't realize you could see the whole albumn!!!! Toenail was my 60th birthday, 3 months after surgery!

How about Applebees? It would be a change. 6:00 will be great.

Hello everyone!

I am new to this site. I was doing research for my upcoming surgery and found you all. My surgery is scheduled for 11/2/07 with Dr. Spiegel. I am so excited! I would love to meet up with ya'll at the next meeting if I am on solid foods.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
