OK guys I'll see you at Hector's around 5:30. I will try to be on time, but may be a few minutes late. I'm sure Dick will meet us there as he wants to try them again. We didn't know about the free ice cream. :)

We're off to The Woodlands for the day. Dick and I like to walk around and window shop. We're going to have lunch there as well.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Welcome barkeep. We won't kid you - you still have to work at weight loss. I do find it much easier with the band. You still will have cravings - not at first though. You will be caught up in the program of what you can and can't eat at first so cravings won't be much of an issue. As you get more comfortable with the band, your head will take over and allow some of those cravings to come in. Don't worry. With the band you can't binge or go overboard too much. The real killer is ice cream. It is easy to eat and doesn't affect the band.

Come join us for dinner if you can on Monday at Hector's. We'll help any way we can. I am so happy I have the band to help me.

I had cravings all my life! And I went on diets, lost, and regained more than I lost. I pretty much couldn't see myself ever being a success with my weight. Now, if I screw up, my weight stays the same. If I do right, I lose. What a difference! And doing right is possible...and used to be impossible. The first time you are able to push away from a plate with only 1/4 of the food gone and really say "I'm full"! You'll know life just got really different!

Mom broke her OTHER hip yesterday. The new ER at Northeast is fabulous. Poor girl....90 years old and having to have an operation and rehab. But she's in good spirits. I'll be at Hectors...Where on 1960 is it? I know I've seen it but don't know where....

Besty how is your mom doing?

I have pulled something in my back and could not keep my baby this past week. Have been to several doctors and even a bone popper. I think she is helping me. They will be doing a MRI and than the test with the needles to check out the nerves in my hand. I cannot even hold a cup of coffee or write my name. What is happening to us. We are all falling apart.

I hope and pray that your mom is doing better. How did it happen? Did she fall?

Her hip gave out, just like the other one did 2 years ago. Oddly, most broken hips break FIRST and cause a fall, instead of the other way around. I just got back from seeing her this morning. It was her first day to get up, and the PT people got her sitting and then standing! Amazing. She's still kind of goofy but doing better.

Sorry about your back! Hope an MRI will tell the story.....

Well finally ladies. I got my band on the 24th and have finally made it to mushies so I will be looking forward to finally meeting everyone the next time you have a dinner date. It seems to have taken a long time to get here but I'm happy that I'm here. I see the Dr. to talk about and maybe get the first fill on the 25th and I don't even go on solid food until the 22nd. Is that normal?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
