Hehe...love it! I didn't realize your granddaughter was half-grown! I thought she was much younger. I bet she has the coolest granny in school! :)

She's 14! The absolute worst age! Sometimes I wish she was "little" again. She was my baby diva. When we traveled, we carried a bag full of nothing but hair bows and ribbons.

This was a trip to Graceland. She was almost 3.

Carlene,

Nice pictures. Your granddaughter looks just like you. I bet you look at her and see you all over again.

Except when she gets THAT attitude (you know the one I mean). Then I look at her and see her mother all over again. LOL

My husband and I used to run a group home. We had lots of 14 year old girls. We used to call 14 the "arsenic year". Tough for boys, worse for girls.

Yeah....if they won't take it, eat some yourself.

Every once in a blue moon (especially holidays) my daughter (Cheyenne's mom) makes some comment about "getting my daughter back". It's just talk, and I know that - probably her guilty conscience talking. But it still pisses me off. This past week the gesture was, "If she weren't so spoiled at your house, I might stand a chance of getting my daughter back." I should send her to her mom's house for Christmas break, don't 'ya think? Might do both of them a world of good.

Carlena merry christmas and a happy new year to you and your family, a beautifil one at that. Congrats on doing a superb job ,losing your weight, you look wonderful, I hope this works for me as sucessful as you ,but I am still cheating a little I am 3 weeks into banded life and have lost 8 lbs. I feel I must do a lot better. I feel very good and don't even feel like I had surgery, but my DR. said I did and I will only get a fill when I dont show any weight loss. is this true? I have a long way to go, I see my Dr. on Jan. 5 again. Take care best wishes from Makemelean

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
