Increased restriction? And 2mo loss

Recommended Posts

So I am two months out and I have gone from eating 3oz of shrimp to maybe 2oz.

I don't think it is increased restriction, but maybe my nerves in my tummy aren't as numb anymore.

Also lost 40 lbs in two months.

Could be, wonder why that would be?

Are you feeling stressed or agitated near meal times? I found after surgery that if my blood pressure rises at all during a meal - if I get annoyed or aggravated in the least - my sleeve constricts and I can't get anything in.

I've also found that what I eat the rest of the day seems to impact how my sleeve reacts. If I eat a lot of choices that can slide (not necessarily bad choices, just softer foods) I have more trouble with my dense Protein at the end of the day.

Typically I have been stressed with food lately. Missing the quantity I could eat at a meal. Like no grabbing just one more handful of chips with a sandwich. Now it's about 1/2 a lettuce wrap and I'm done. I'm not cleared from my doc to "go wild" with what I eat. Still on the super high Protein.

I'm happy that I'm not wondering where the restriction is though. :-) I can tell the surgery is working for sure when I eat.

Omg I went thru this same thing at 2 months out! It lasted for about a week or 2 then went back to the 3-4 ounces. I have no idea why but I just listened to my body and went with the flow. Weird.....

The super high Protein will last a long time (ideally!) and will help train you to eat differently (ideally!) so it's not a bad thing. It does get boring when your choices are limited and your restriction is very tight. Honestly - you're lucky to get 2-3 oz. of dense protein, is my opinion. It makes eating easier but not so easy you could just fly off the rails. I couldn't eat more than a single egg scrambled with cheese at one time for more than a year.

And I definitely felt resentment about what I could eat and because I couldn't eat what I needed to eat, and I think that it's fairly normal to grieve our old food habits in the early months.

I checked my old weight loss tracker and at two months post op, I'd shed 34 pounds. The only months I shed pounds in the double digits were months one to four post op.

You're on the right track. And being thankful for that restriction is the right attitude, even though there are times that I still get frustrated by how little I can eat!

Thank you. Hearing other people get the same feeling helps me feel a little more sane. I'm missing fountain soda. That has been eating at me. And Wendy's. But buying clothes from regular stores, tiring my shoes, and not running out of breath going up stairs is so much better.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
