Super antsy and anxious?

Recommended Posts

I got sleeved 4/22, monday of this week. I'm feeling good, keeping down liquids and drinking my Water and Protein. I have one problem. I'm full of nervous energy. I've been pacing my apartment, feeling like I need to things Worrying and fretting over things. But I don't have anything to worry and fret over.

I'm off work, I finished everything before my leave, my son is at his dad's. I should be relaxing and watching loads of television and I can't sit still. My heart is racing.

I called the doctor and they said it wouldn't be a side affect of any of my meds...but I'm usually a pretty chill person. well somewhat chill.

Any body else feel this way?

I had my sleeve on Monday as well, and like you I am home. I am using this time to get my mind right because I know once this two week period is over everything is going to go very fast including the pounds. Try and relax and imagine how good you will look and feel.

I'm trying. If there is one thing I am good at is laying around, being lazy, and enjoying naps. Somehow I couldn't do any of that today. Not that cleaning and organizing is a bad thing, but why am i doing it now?

I took a bath and that helped relax me a bit. Tomorrow I'm going to get started on my netflix queue. Maybe that will help me relax.

I got sleeved on 4/22 also.it was also my b'day. I know what you mean. I keep thinking am I doing the right thing. I feel like I am not drinking enough but I am because I am logging it. Everything went so well. I am not have too much of a difficult time swallowing. My doc gave me anti esophagus spasm pills. They have worked wonders for me. I am not in a great deal of pain. Just sore & achy. I get ahead of the pain before it gets me so to speak. I also had a hiatal hernia repair. Never knew I had one. Also have another one which we'll fix later. I have taken a month off from work. I read where people are anxious about losing the weight. I,to tell you the truth, am not all that concerned. I did the surgery to get off my diabetic meds & I went home on Wednesday not needing to take any. So my sleeve sisters, I hope we can share our stories. And we need to hang in there & hydrate :)

Agreed. I think it will be really helpful to talk to other people with similar surgery dates.

How is food going for you? I can't tell when I'm hungry but I'm mentally hungry. I'm trying to drink Water when I feel that way.

This is part of the reaction I have to anesthesia with every surgery I have had. Not sure if that's what is going on with you but it happens to me every time. The nervous energy phase is followed by the weepy for no reason phase for me. Then it all magically goes away. Hang in there!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
