kaysonsmom 59 Posted April 25, 2013 Im considering having a panni. Im about 10 months post op and my surgeon suggested i see his partner for a consult. My insurance requires me to see a nurse practitioner for 3 consecutive months. My 3rd appt is May 15. My boyfriend and I have been considering having a baby sometime in the near future. I would probably have to have a repeat c-section. So would it be smarter to have a baby then the panni? Im going to ask the nurse practitioner in May but Id like to get opinions before then. I would personally wait until after having a baby to have a Panni done. Only because that skin is going to get stretched out again, so what's the point of having it done, only to have it re-done after you have your baby? Good luck to you either way! CarolinePT09 9 Posted April 25, 2013 Hi I am in the same boat as you!!!!! I am 10 months out and my surgeon suggested to see his partner too for a Tummy Tuck. However I have no kids and I plan on having them in the next two yrs. I feel like I want to enjoy my new body and weight loss. Then I feel guilty what if it effects my pregnancy or I ruin the tummy tuck. My surgeon said the skin bounces back don't worry. But I have read other reviews online. I'm 32 and I feel like I'm getting old to have kids. So I should put the tummy tuck aside and have kids sooner. But I'm selfish I want to enjoy my new body! I'm so lost on what direction to go... Tummy tuck or kids in the next 6 months.

Ahhh i dunno
christina0613 103 Posted April 25, 2013 If you have the money saved for the panni.. I would have the kids first, you could always have it after. My aunt did a Tummy Tuck n then ha a kid 3 yes later, it stretched it a lol but she was barely showing at 8 months . It really up to you but kids are a amazing gift. I've seen moms at 46 look at hallie Barry but then again she got money for IVF and stuff

KristieAtkinson 589 Posted April 26, 2013 I say have the baby first. If you thought you were going to have a natural childbirth, I'd be on the fence. However, I've had 2 c sections myself. The first one was bad on my stomach, the second was devastation. I love my children very much. I would live with this flappy apron forever before I'd give either up. I'm now scheduled for a corset trunkplasty to remove my excess stomach skin. I tell people, my sleeve surgery was my fault, the skin removal is on my kids. Lol. Best of luck to you on the new baby & the skin removal!
missmeow 156 Posted April 26, 2013 Kids first so you don't have to do it again or get marks all over your new belly.
Kalimomof3 613 Posted April 28, 2013 Baby first and if you know you will have a repeat c-section some OBs will do a Mini TT for extra $if you are an uncomplicated pt. I worked as an OB nurse in CA and a few of the OBs did it at our hospital .

Ima Loser 197 Posted April 30, 2013 I am going to follow this post because I am struggling with the same internal debate... We have 1 son, Husband and I want another child, although that isn't guarenteed to happen (due to some of my fertility issues). We feel so blessed with out 3 1/2 year old that if another baby doesn't happen we are ok with that too. That being said we really want to start trying but not for another 2 years or so... I don't know whether or not I would do a pani before or after baby... We want to try in another 2 years and last time it took me almost 2 years to get preg with our son so it could possibly be another 4 years before I get preg if ever... Thats why I am on the fence... I am def not at a point where I am ready for the panni but I am pretty sure it is going to be necessary!
