xcillax 24 Posted April 24, 2013 I know this may sound like a silly question but I really do need advice... I'm currently in my 3 month supervised diet May 23rd is my last weigh in!! ..Anyhoo, I decided to purchase the sampler pack from Chike just to try it out, that way I know which ones taste good and the ones that don't. On the individual packets it says to add Water, shake and enjoy....umm I have a feeling it's not going to taste all that great, so my question is this; did you ONLY use Water? or did you add fruit to it and blend??? And also, could we even add fruit to the shakes when we are pre-op and right out of surgery? I just want to flavor, because only adding water just seems so BLAH Thanks!! rebecca_dsu 241 Posted April 24, 2013 I think they are pretty good with just Water. When you are right out of surgery, no you can not add fruit or milk or anything other than Water. (You can add milk in the full liquid phase, and fruit in the "puree" stage if I'm not mistaken). Go ahead and try one with just water and see what you think. I really didn't think it was bad. aquitenonnymouse 206 Posted April 24, 2013 After surgery (once out of the hospital) I was allowed to make my shakes with milk, and I like the flavors that way! I didn't add fruit to my smoothies until puree stage, but I DID add unflavored Protein Powder (from Unjury) to juice that I made by putting fruits and veggies through the juicer. My nutritionist thought it was a good idea to get me the Vitamins, minerals, and calories I needed.
O.T.R. sleever 3,386 Posted April 24, 2013 Chike is probably the best tasting high Protein Meal Replacement out there if you like a rich shake. Yes, Water is fine, I'd toss a bit of crushed ice into it as well. The banana tastes like banana pudding. I also use unsweetened almond milk(30cal/ 8oz) to add extra Calcium & a bit of nutty flavor. Do keep in mind though that Chike is a high Protein Meal Replacement, not a Protein Drink. It has a few more calories, not trying to scare you away from Chike, just ensuring your awareness. Chris P Bacon 46 Posted April 24, 2013 I agree with O.T.R. I add Water and ice. It doesnt sound too appetizing but really it tastes fine.
