CowgirlJane 14,260 Posted May 13, 2013 don't feel disgust - in my opinion that is a hurtful emotion and also part of the addicts routine. Feel gratefulness.. .the wagon is circling back and you have climbed back on. I had 2 days of overeating. Went out with my girlfriend, then next day out with my son, then mothers day...yadda yadda yadda. My first symptom of old ways is that I didn't weigh myself every morning... my denial routine is beginning. I made a note on my bathroom mirror that tomorrow am I weigh - no matter if I feel fat. The point is doing exactly what you are doing - getting back on track and loving ourselves enough to do it! 5 ProudGrammy, leeann71, mistysj and 2 others reacted to this
Marbear 41 Posted May 14, 2013 Great job putting on the brakes, and I salute you for the open kimono post. That takes guts. I'm glad to see you've gotten some great encouragement and support here...now just grab those bootstraps...!
leeann71 539 Posted May 14, 2013 Leanne71 don't just trash it' date=' pour detergent over it so it is absolutely non edible!! I have to keep myself away from sweets and things like that or ill ruin everything I've been working towards. Being a single guy helps because I choose what is in my fridge and cabinets so I am sure it is even tougher having a family whose food choices might not fit with your goals but you can do this!![/quote'] I ended up throwing it away. We had a family meeting and I explained to them again what not to bring in the house unless they hide it and not let me know its there. I am getting better though about certain foods. Mothers Day they brought me Godiva chocolate covered strawberries (one of my favorite) I only ate half of one.
Snow 86 Posted May 14, 2013 Hey OTR you're not alone! I wish there was a more simple and easy answer than to get back on track but. There isn't . I'm 10 months post op and for 5 months been stuck. Raspberry cappachinos from Starbucks. My doctor said if I continue my WLS will fail. I was sent back to the nutritionist and the psychologist. Mind you I was drink 4-5 a day. The things I just learned is people who drink and eat at the same time will fail. Drinking soda will cause you to fail. Psychologist gave me the best advice and I will share. He said we all have thoughts all day and night about all kinds of things. The fact is just because we have the thought doesn't mean we have to act on that thought. Hope this helps! I'm 10 pounds from goal and it feels like 10 thousand pounds. Hang in there we can do this!!! Dr told me the good thing was that we I was asked how I was doing I did not lie and say I'm fine. That makes all the difference in the world. If I could only stop all my other cross addictions I'd be really happy! Good luck to you OTR! Btw I'm a professional driver as well! NMJG 1,266 Posted May 22, 2013 I'm so glad you are back. I fell off the other day and ate over 2000 calories (well, drank some of it). It happens but the hardest thing is coming back, which you did! Congratulations.
O.T.R. sleever 3,386 Posted May 22, 2013 Thank you everybody. I'm doing a lot better, my weight is headed in the right direction again. My biggest problem again is remembering to eat & drink enough. Most days I'm good but maybe once a week ill get preoccupied & just not eat or drink anything all day (except my morning shake). Never thought not eating would be my problem 1 mistysj reacted to this
