AliciaNoelle121 12 Posted April 24, 2013 So I took like three table spoons of no fat no sugar ice cream and melted it with some Protein on top. Kinda foamy mixture. Four bites and I felt funny so I stopped eating it. Funny like too much air. About a half hour later I'm having a weird crampy pain in the center of my chest like where my sternum is. Anyone else have this happen? I'm 7 days post op
Yoli3925 67 Posted April 24, 2013 That's different. I wouldn't try that again. I hope you feel better.

MommyofFive 243 Posted April 24, 2013 I am 4 months out and ice cream/frozen yogurt is one of the few things I can not tolerate. It makes me feel awful!!!!
bmbrush413 124 Posted April 24, 2013 Ice cream, etc is on my avoid list until at least 6 weeks out... I wouldn't do that again for a while!!
MichiganChic 3,262 Posted April 24, 2013 Yeah, my list of what I could eat at 1 week post op was pretty small, and it didn't include ice cream. I really think that restrictive list helped me reset my way of eating. I'm 4 months out and can eat just about anything, but I've surprisingly developed new habits, and I still avoid high fat, high calorie foods. It's about changing our eating habits. I probably could eat ice cream, but I ever think about doing it! That's a little shocking me, but I attribute it to those early days post op. Don't get me wrong - it's still a learning curve and I am in no way claiming to be perfect - you are doing the right thing by realizing you are changing, too! Congratulations on your recent surgery, I wish you continued success
