Cleared for exercise today= hitting the boxing club!

Recommended Posts

I had my one month appointment today (technically 5 weeks) and got cleared for all exercise so I went and joined the local boxing club. I felt SO good afterward. Now tomorrow may be a different story lol I just hate to walk for exercise because I find it incredibly boring. So glad I can do something now where I actually feel like I'm doing something. I had to just walk in place during a little bit of it but for the most part, I did pretty well. Got a free set of boxing gloves too :) win win!

If you find walking boring, try listening to an audiobook or music.

mix it with speed walking and jogging if you can, its so much fun.

Good luck!!

I won't actually be hitting anyone :) Just the heavy bag. Relieves frustration and stress and different emotions. I am doing great. I have needed to up my water but I finally reached 64 oz yesterday. Hoping to keep that going. I'm getting in at least 60 protein which I will be upping as well. I've had to add calories because I was only getting in about 600 and the doctor wants me at 1000 especially doing the boxing so I'm trying to get better about that. Tonight I'm going to start a strength training routine mixed with intervals on the treadmill. Walking bores me but if I can get to where I'm able to jog, I enjoy it more. How are you doing? Everything going ok?

wow .you sound like you got it all under control... i am jealous...but hopefully will get 1/2 way near there soon. I aim for 6 glasses of Water a day but sometimes only get 4-5. I also strive for 45 g of Protein but do get more . i still do powder protien for 20grams. just to make sure I get the protein in. other than that doing ok I guess.. Keep up the great work!!!!!!!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
