Hello all. I was sleeved 2/7/13 with a hernia repair. Everything went great and I had no complications healing, eating or drinking...until a few weeks ago. I passed 2 kidney stones within 4 days. Both times it required a trip to the ER. Since then I have absolutely no desire to eat or drink. I had been doing well and getting all my Protein in with the help of one shake a day, now I can't get two sips of a shake in without discomfort and nausea. The thought of a Protein Shake makes me gag. I have been mixing powder in with orange juice each morning to get something in my system. I saw my doc on 4/3 and he said my body has been through a lot and it may take time to get back on track. I should mention I had no a CT scan and ultrasound while in the hospital to rule out leaks. My problem is I have no appetite, don't want to eat or drink, and when I do try, everything makes me VERY uncomfortable. Not pain..just very full, sore and miserable. My stomach always feels like a a party is going on inside it. I wonder if its gas. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Help! I can't live off sf Popsicles forever. (That's all I want to eat).

Thanks. I am really bummed because I was doing so good before the stones hit. I could eat just about anything. Now everything hurts. It's just frustrating.

It's the first thing I thought of. Maybe you can have it declared medically necessary and get it free from the government.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
