Who is your doctor? The pain but I think all of it has been from the hernia repair. Cause everyone says they really didn't have any pain. After surgery I had hard time with Soups, thinking about them make me sick. LOL. Getting my fluids and Protein in has been task. With all that said I'm still happy that I did it. I lost as of Monday which is 6 days out 15lbs.

My Dr. Is Dr. Bass. I also have to have a hernia repaired during surgery! Im worried about the full liquid diet because my sister had the lap-band done and she literally cried because she was so hungry! I also worry about getting the protien in lol I guess its all a big change for a lifetime. 15lbs in 6 days thats great! congrats!!!

Yes, he is really nice. He did my aunts lap band over year ago. Missy is the sweetest thing. I had couple questions after surgery and Dr Bass called me back himself.

The liquid diet gets easier after about the 2nd or 3 rd day. Your taste buds or they way your stomach feels about certain foods changes after surgery so don't stock up to much on items. The liquid Soups I used 2 different types to give them more taste. Like French onion and beef. Dannon light n fit greek yogurt is high in Protein and taste pretty good. Are u part of the Facebook group or have the my fitness pal app yet??? GOOD LUCK!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
