michelleandcolten 87 Posted April 23, 2013 Has anyone used the silicone sheets for their scars after plastic surgery? How well do they work? Any feed back would be great. I am trying to get everything I would need so that I'm ready for improving post op:)
NurseGrace 509 Posted April 23, 2013 I used them after I had my band removed. Seemed to make no difference really, I like my bio oil better
coops 1,790 Posted April 23, 2013 I haven't used them either... my surgeon told me to use vaseline on the scar, and it has worked beautifully, I am very pleased with my scars to date! 1 mylifeinpink reacted to this
Gaylebco 11 Posted May 6, 2013 I have used the silicone sheets, I had my arms done and they need to be taken off daily, washed and reapplied and most of the time something extra to hold them in place. I feel they did a bit of good because they kept the area moist longer then just rubbing some oil or such on them because they tend to dry up too soon versus the 23 hours with the pads on. Sunshine1 34 Posted May 11, 2013 Im using the silicone sheets now and I've seen a great improvement in a matter of days. Now I got mine from the wound dept at my work so I'm not sure if those purchased online would have the same result.
MAMAuntie 17 Posted May 13, 2013 My PS surgeon, well she will be the official surgeon once the insurance approval comes in, said not to buy anything pre-op but wait until she sees me post op and can determine how my incisions look and then she can direct me in the best route. She mentioned the silicone strips and bio oil but I will wait and see what she says! GOOD LUCK to you on your surgery and post some pics as soon as you can and if you are comfortable! I'm going in for a TT and inner thigh lift hopefully end of June. Jennifer
