Grilled shrimp on the barbie just don't eat the bread it comes on. I think it is on the appetizer menu and I think you get like 6 shrimp. I'm not sure where you are in your eating but grilled salmon may also be a good choice :)

I vote for a 6 ounce steak with grilled asparagus and steamed green Beans you can eat half now and half tomorrow for lunch!

Go to outbacksteakhouse.com and click on nutrition information... you can check out complete nutrition info including calories and Protein grams.

There are a lot of good options there... just stay away from that damn Bloomin'Onion whatever you do!

My go to foods at any place I'm looking for seafood with a sauce on the side.

I don't know how far out you are, but I get the chicken on the Barbie with steamed veggies as my side. They give you 2 breasts. I either take one home or give one to my husband which makes him happy!

Last time I went, I split a 6oz steak and lobster tail with my daughter, it was on special. I got asparagus as my side and ate just a few bites of the steak and about 1/2 the lobster tail! Yummy!

The closest thing I've had to fillet mignon in the outback is a kangaroo tail chucked on a camp fire!!

Thanks everyone. I went with the grilled salmon and veggies. Only could eat a little because my husband ordered the crab and avo stack and I has a little of that too. :-)

Your suggestions were all very helpful!

Their lobster tail(s) with fresh veggies or asparagus minus the butter that comes with the lobster is perfect! I can usually only eat one tail and that's it for me, but it's great calories and protein! :)

Early on, my husband would order the 6 oz sirloin and you can add shrimp to an entree. We'd get the shrimp for me, and I always tell them NOT to brush it with butter. It's really good and would fill me up, if I wanted a bite of the grilled veggie, one would be just about all I could handle. Now days we'll order the med sirloin and I'll take about 3.5 oz. My DH will get the side salad for me and he'll get grilled veggies normally. I get the dressing on the side to dip lightly, but still I can only eat a little of it. I love the cucumbers.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
