Have you thought about getting a part time job at a bakery? Whip IP some samples and take them to your local bakeries. Might as well get paid to do what you love

I do this, too. I bake a few times a week and I love it. I give it away or send it to work with my husband. It's so much more enjoyable now than it was before. I let myself have a few bites of whatever I bake.

What if you learn to do really complicated time-consuming cooking, like fancy cake decorating or French cuisine. I'm sure a lot of the appeal is the actual process and if you make it complicated you might get more bang for your buck. We knitters do this by using really thin yarn and tiny needles, to make them go further.

Or you could volunteer to cook at a shelter or make a business out of it and do catering or something like that. You won't have to have it in your house then.

Did you think of taking some chef courses? Then, once again, it's out of your house. Lots of the classes are for healthy food too.

Maybe look for some better recipes like home made granola bars and whole grain breads and muffins of course you will need to watch they are not high sugar...I would not go low carb for growing children I actually wouldn't period but that is me I would just try better quality carbs.

Or you could try scrap booking or something equally addictive and time consuming....

I have decided to make my family's food healthier as well as my own I have never allowed my children to be overly picky about fruit and vegetables and my hubs is military and likes to stay fit so it is going ok.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
