I had my sleeve on 4/17. I never am hungry but I do try to eat. My question is... Every time I take a bite of food it feels like I have to burp. Then my stomach just goes crazy with noise. Is this normal?

I had mine on 4/27... Make sure your chewing with your mouth closed and not taking in food and drink at the same time. My stomach usually sounds like a mariachi band when I'm eating lol

Yes. Very normal. Your tummy is still trying to adjust to it's new size. And the noise thing unfortunately is just one of those things that goes along with this surgery. I was sleeved 1/15 and mine has quieted down a lot, unless I eat Soup. For some reason that still gets it talkin. :)

My stomach gurgled for about the first 3-4 weeks and then it stopped, except when I eat Soup (same as MrsG). I am wondering if this is because we aren't supposed to have solids and liquids together and technically that's what soup is? So I try to only eat thicker Soups or pour off some of the broth, like a thick black bean soup.

I had my sleeve in November and sometimes my stomach still makes noises. As long as its not nausea, I think it's normal :)

I'm almost three years out and "Stella" still talks to me. Yes, I named my sleeve!

I think it is when I eat a little too much, not stuffed, but maybe a bite or two more than I should have eaten, that is when she talks back.

Hey there! Yes, three years on June 11th! The time has flown by, it's hard to remember what my life was like 'prior'. I feel great, healthy, some times I even feel thin. LOL It takes a long time for our heads to catch up to our little tummys!!!

I still have good restriction, depending on what I'm eating, I still can only eat 2/3 - 3/4 cup of food at a time, thank God!!! I was told at the seminar that he never wants his patients to eat more than a cup of food at a time. At three years, I think I'm at max. capacity, don't you?

I still have no real 'hunger'. I have what I call my new hunger, which is more of an emtpy feeling, something I can ignore if I choose to. I also hope that this never changes. I keep thinking that this far out, everything should stay like it is now. No hunger makes it easy to resist if I want to, whereas before, resisting did not happen often!! :)

It is so strange, at about 3 or 4 months out I could eat sooooo little at a time, I was only eating about 600 calories per day, but now, I need 1200 - 1300 per day to maintain. I eat off of a salad plate, but it is pretty full.....and in my "rational" mind, I know it's not a lot, but I still find myself asking my husband, "Did I eat a lot?" WEIRD!!!!!

I love this new way of life, I would do it again in a NY minute, how about you??!!!!

I'm very happy with the surgery too. I had the LAPBAND for 6 years and it had moved to my esophagus a long time ago but we never knew until it started affecting my heart.

I seem to lose the most when I only do Protein shakes. But it's not easy to do liquids only.

I'm very happy with the surgery too. I had the LAPBAND for 6 years and it had moved to my esophagus a long time ago but we never knew until it started affecting my heart.

I seem to lose the most when I only do Protein shakes. But it's not easy to do liquids only.

I am so glad I didn't go with the Lapband, initially that is what I was going to do. My friend had gotten one a few years before, so it is what I was going to do....until I started investigating and the upkeep, not losing as well, and all the problems I'd read about on the forums, reviews etc. Hearing your story lets me know, the issues can be pretty bad. I'm glad you're ok.

My doctor said this is not a diet, it's a way of life. You cannot and should not drink Protein Shakes from now on. Can you get in a LOT of Protein, upwards of 70 grams per day? Limit sweets, including fruits, at least while you are losing. I lived on meat, (pork, beef, LOVE fish) 1% cottage cheese, canned Albacore tuna, bagged shrimp and eggs. There were other things mixed in, but those were my biggies. I limited cheese and nuts after realizing, although they are protein, they are both high in calories. I recently discovered PB2, the powdered Peanut Butter, it's not as good as Smuckers Natural PB, but it's not bad, I NEED Snacks now, a couple a day to get in the calories I need.....and I really like Peanut Butter on a graham cracker. This is good, whereas reg peanut butter is 200 calories for a serving, PB2 is 45 calories! I don't eat chips, not at home, when at a Mexican food restaurant I will eat a few. I do not exercise, never have, I know how easily I get bored and did not want my weight loss be in part, from exercising. I know I'd quit, and I was scared I'd re-gain, so I made life style changes I can live with.

50 lbs, that is nothing to sneeze at, congrats!!! You can continue to lose, I'm sure of it!

BTW, I understand 'stress related' hunger. I don't 'feel' the hunger but I know when I'm nervous, stressed.......whatever, out of habit i want to graze!!! :)

My Drs disagree with the "cannot, should not drink protein drinks" they actually recommend using them long term. The higher quality ones are a good source of protein with the benefit of being low in calories and carbs. I am not really a Breakfast person so I actually enjoy starting my day with one. The opinions of the doctors do vary greatly when it comes to nutrition!

The higher quality ones are a good source of Protein with the benefit of being low in calories and carbs. I am not really a Breakfast person so I actually enjoy starting my day with one. The opinions of the doctors do vary greatly when it comes to nutrition!

I agree, I think the ONLY thing they ALL agree on is avoid carbonated drinks!!! My Protein Drink to start AND end the day is ice cold skim milk. Not as high in protein but I love cold milk!!! I say follow your doctor's advice and do what works for YOU, absolutely!!! Have a great weekend!

        Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...
