axd0424 33 Posted April 21, 2013 Why are there so many diff types. My girlfriends was 10 day..I'm 5 days. But I'm reading on these forums. Some people don't have to any. One girl wrote she was eating lobster the day before. So who's right?
Jessica H 79 Posted April 21, 2013 Depends on the physician. I have a 2 week liquid diet. You'd think it'd be the same across the board!
Richard Foor 655 Posted April 21, 2013 It more or less just has to do with what the individual surgeons and NUT's believe is best. Some of them use the preop as a preparatory phase for the patient to better be ready post op for what they have to do the first couples weeks especially. AmyinMI 5 Posted April 21, 2013 I was told it is up to the surgeon. My surgeon has a 4 week requirement. I just scheduled my surgery for 5/15 and started it Friday. She did say my labs & overall health would qualify me for a shorter preop period, but she didn't have anything available.
mjameyson 3 Posted April 21, 2013 Lobster is actually pretty low fat, seafood in general is healthy. As long as she didn't dip it in butter! Lol
