I eat a lot of pickles/olives as Snacks. I crave them, as a matter of fact. I've never thought of just drinking the juice, but I may have to try it! :)

That was a good movie. Some of y'all surprise me. Pickle Juice is a standard at any snow cone stand down here...even bahama bucks has it. I love pickles. I will put some juice in tuna...deviled eggs... or just drink it. My aunt always gave us a little to sip on when we had an upset stomache and it worked...still do it now...well I did pre surgery lol

You guys are fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now that I know that Pickle Juice can be used for different remedies, I will save my pickle juice instead of discarding it. Does it matter if it's sweet or sour, because I like the sweet pickles by Famous Dave's they are the best.

Hi Houston17,

I'm a pickle juice drinker but I've found something even better than pickle juice. I order Bob's Pickle Pops; they crush whole dill pickles and then freeze the juice. I haven't asked my dietician about pickle juice yet, but I will ask her at my next appointment. Here is a link to Bob's http://www.bobspicklepops.com/

I craved dill pickles during my post -op liquid phase. I finally decided that I was sodium deficient. Sure enough, once I was able to eat food, the craving faded. I cannot eat bread but I was craving a corned beef sandwich so I got some corned beef and drizzled some dill Pickle Juice on it. It satisfied my sandwich craving.

I had to click on just because of the title Picke Juice!

I've drunk Pickle Juice since I was a kid from the jar standing in front of the frig.

Thought it was kind of normal

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
