I know it sounds weird to most folks, but I have seen posts of others drinking it. I have tried to search but I can't get anything to come up. Curious to how far out you were when you had some and about how much was it? :)

It's just a substitute of eating a dill pickle. I've had it for years. Yum. Just looking to have some now but not sure how long out to wait. :)

There are a lot of weirdos here that drink pickle juice!! Some say it helps with acid? Some pure it in their tuna, some DRINK IT :P

I don't know I thought you always threw the juice away after you've eaten the pickles..

Oh and someone even poured it over shaved ice to make a slushie!

Well, pickle juice is good when you use it in tuna or egg salad - I normally put some chopped pickle in both tuna and egg salads, and sometimes choose to put a little less mayo or mustard in the mix and add a spoon or two of Pickle Juice instead. The big problem with pickle juice is the ultra-high sodium content in most cases.

Vinegar is actually supposed to be healthy for you (if you aren't familiar with it, visit any good Asian market and look at the drinking vinegars.) If you're in Portland, visit Pok Pok and have their drinking vinegar soft drinks, or a cocktail mixed with the drinking vinegar. It comes in several different flavors, and it was quite surprising to me the first time I tried it.

It's a spot on cure for hiccups...I am completely serious. That is when I would have a sip, if holding my breath didn't work. I got this tip from my grandfather.

I drink it for leg cramps! Will stop them in their tracks! I like to freeze it in ice trays and eat them like popcicles

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
