I am 1 week post op I'm tired of eat Soup my doctor wants me on a liquid diet for 2 weeks but I don't know if I can go another day with soup I do drink Protein shakes but that is not helping either' date=' Has anyone else gone through this? If so what did you do?[/quote']

I had surgery Monday and I feel like I could eat anything. I've only been consuming full liquids since Tuesday however I feel like I'm starving ( head hunger ) sucks!

I just want the things I complained about eating before surgery on the low carb diet. What u wouldn't give for an egg or some cheese or some chicken salad lol

Looking forward to the next week passing and welcoming puréed foods.

I am also 1 week out and close to killing the next person who suggests another Protein shake! Just try to think of something else.

I'm with you on the Protein shakes I haven't gotten an entire one down yet. All the different types i have tried and still can't force myself to drink it.

I hate the things, I mix it in just a little bit of Water, just enough to pour in my mouth and swallow as fast as I can....uggggghhhh....then follow by more Water. It's the only way I can get it done each day...

We were allowed to eat nonfat yogurt regular or Greek without fruit in our full liquid stage. I liked the Dannon light vanilla flavored one. We could also eat extremely thinned out cream of wheat Cereal and sugar free pudding. If you can't handle dairy products you can buy the boxed kind and make it with either soy milk or Lactaid. Hang in there it's only temporary and gets better. Remember Nothing tastes as good as THIN feels!!!

How much are you guys able to consume at one time? I've been portioning out 1/4 cup of broth, yogurt, Soup etc but about 40 min later I feel like I want to eat again ;-(

I am 3 1/2 months post-op. I can tell you in the beginning stages I was always hungry. What I did was eat what I could on my stage/plan several times a day. If I ate a yogurt at 10a, and was hungry 45 min later I would eat Soup, and my day continued as said. Two months after surgery is when I could eat anything that my stomach was able to handle, which I did, still kinda staying on plan tho. And my hunger was controlled. I do eat mostly Protein tho, and always start my day with a Protein Shake, protein will def fill you up more than slider foods.. Hang in there I am here to tell you it gets better.. Down 50 pounds, and loving life.. You will do great, Good Luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
