Need your help - Recipe's

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, I am in big need of your help. I am not much of a cooker and I am having a hard time finding things to eat. I was sleeved on April 1, 2013. I am currently on soft food, I find myself eating tuna, chicken with cooked veggies, sardines, Jello and Popsicles most of the time .. Oh I did make that ricotta back once (lasted all week). I am down 45 pounds (including pre-op) but the scale has not really moved since surgery. Am I doing something wrong? Any suggestions? Thanking you all in advance!!

Did you do your liquids phase? I know a lot of surgeons are different. I have noticed a lot of people are eatting soft foods within a week of being sleeved. I lost the most during clear and full liquids. At 4 weeks out, I still prefer a somewhat of a liquid diet.

Yes, when I was released I was on full liquids, the following week on puréed foods, and the week after, soft. There is just only so much spam, chicken and sardines I can eat... Lol

Did you like the ricotta bake?

Could you eat the Atkins meals. They have some good meals. I puree mine lol.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
