jessicakayyy 0 Posted April 20, 2013 I'm three days post op and I am not feeling awesome at all. I feel like i sip constantly but it just causes me pain. I feel like I'm never going to feel normal. Anyone else feel like this after a few days? Maybe I'm just being really impatient.
cmartin15 3 Posted April 20, 2013 You will get there. It will be fine you are just in the hard part. I am 6 months out and was in you shoes. All the new things being scared to sip and drink it will all pass. Just get through the first couple of weeks and you will be amazed at how your body will accept the new you. sess 2 Posted April 20, 2013 I'm 16 day out! I felt like **** first week and a half, i struggled to eat and sip, I regretted it so much it's onl been the last 4 days I've managed to just get a litre of Water in and a few more teaspoons of food! But it slowly getting better each day! I still have my depressed days and I cry and wish I was normal again but my hubby, children and mum keep me going and tell me it's for the best which I now get excited about! Hang in there it gets better with time
MichiganChic 3,262 Posted April 20, 2013 It's normal, and while everyone is different, I think most felt pretty rough the first few days. We all improve at different rates, and not always in a steady or linear fashion. Just take it a day at a time, keep sipping, and hang in there. It does get better - for real! PatliPriya 13 Posted April 20, 2013 I'm 3 weeks and I feel NORMAL only in the 24hrs..my energy levels are low ... But I've been fighting the flu and gastro (totally unrelated to surgery) and dehydration too... But don't worry everyday is different and everyday you'll increase your capacity slightly ... Chin up - I've lost 15kg in 3 weeks... SO HAPPY!!!

tb21872 31 Posted April 20, 2013 Know how you are feeling! I was MISERABLE. It was difficult to consume anything except Water for weeks! However, my dietician worked with me and it eventually got better. IT WILL GET BETTER! Hang in there and just know that all this will be worth it in the end!!!!!! ISleevedIt 380 Posted April 20, 2013 Are you sipping cold or hot liquids. Switch it up and see if that helps. As everyone says, it only gets better and better. Hang in there! Shoot what am I saying with "hang in there"? You have no choice but to hang in there. Try to think positive and think about how much healthier you'll be and all the things you'll be able to do that you haven't been able to!
DayByDay 123 Posted April 20, 2013 I'm three days post op and I am not feeling awesome at all. I feel like i sip constantly but it just causes me pain. I feel like I'm never going to feel normal. Anyone else feel like this after a few days? Maybe I'm just being really impatient. Took me 3 weeks to feel human. 4 to feel decent. 5 to feel normal (got my energy back). Just keep up with the Water. chicken broth or unjury chicken flavor was a life savor. Protein helps aid in the healing process. And move when you can. Good luck. It does get better. kimbernada 190 Posted April 20, 2013 It takes at least a week. For ME, getting my fluids in is still a work-in-progress. Just keep sipping away. In a couple of weeks, you'll be feeling almost back to your old self. (Only you can't eat as much and your biggest concern will be grams of protein.) Well, that's how I was anyhow.
