Wow I'd didn't think it was that long!! Can anyone tell me how long there surgery was ?? Thanks dde2e Wow that's insane!!! Mine took 1.5 hours start to finish. That's from the moment they wheeled me back to the time the doc went out and talked to my hubby. And I had a hernia repaired which added about 20 extra mins. makemyownluck 785 Posted April 19, 2013 I'm getting sleeved 5/2. My surgeon said it would only be about an hour and a half.
RareGold3000 185 Posted April 19, 2013 Mine was 1 to 1 1/2 hrs surgery time alone. Maybe they are counting the 2hrs you have to be at the hospital pre op and the 1 to 1 1/2 hr recovery room time, that would total 5 hrs.
colcol 128 Posted April 19, 2013 Thanks that's sounds a lot better to me then 5 hrs . How was the pain post-op they said the gas was really bad. I had my Gallbladder removed and had the gas pain it sucked

luckysmomma 407 Posted April 19, 2013 1 1/2 for me...walk, walk, and walk some more...make yourself - it helps with the pain!
SerendipityHappens 1,594 Posted April 19, 2013 45 minutes for me... I had a lot of room inside my abdomen with a normal liver and very little visceral fat for someone of my size so the doctor could get in and out pretty quickly. Also the team that took care of me has been working with each other for a few years and have done a few thousand procedures together so they've got a pretty good rhythm going! mrsmsp 3 Posted April 20, 2013 I was awake in recovery in 45 mins.,.so was my brother who had the surgery exactly a month after me.
Chellemetime 299 Posted April 20, 2013 Mine also took about 1 1/2 hours. And I will tell you that I was up and walking the halls of the hospital 4 hours after surgery. They came in every 3 hours and walked me. I went home at 10:00 the next morning and every day for the next week my husband and I went somewhere (a shopping mall, the strand at Galveston Beach or just shopping) and I walked for a solid 2 hours each day. I never had problems with gas and have had a very easy road even considering that I lost my Mom 3 weeks after surgery.
pinkdiamondprincess36 20 Posted April 20, 2013 My surgery was abt 2 hrs. I had a hiatal hernia repaired as well.
annette0117 4 Posted April 20, 2013 I just had my surgery last week and it was 1 1/2 hrs. Maybe your dr meant from checking time at the hospital to end of surgery. I checked in at 6:00, had surgery at 9:00 and was in recovery at 10:30.
colcol 128 Posted April 20, 2013 I have to clarify I just read over the info my surgeon gave me and the time is from when I arrive in the hospital until recovery room. Thanks for all the info
